Asian (sort-of) Wall Art

Lots of picts...

Hello everyone wanted to share with you my little project I did today.
I purchased these bamboo table mats at Big Lots earlier in the summer.
And had some ideas to what I wanted to do with them like make some floor mats for my kitchen, because I am still hunting for the perfect floor mats...
Instead I decided to make Asian Wall art. *sort of
At first I was going to cut out stencils and paint but decided to do what I use to tell my student
"free hand it" and just be creative.

Yup a buck!!

I hot glued three of the mats together from the back making sure that the letters in the front are facing the right way...

Firmly pinching the seams together for a few seconds...

Then with my trusty paint brush, I free handed some Asian characters, after looking at some internet art.

I think it turned out  great!

It is now hanging on the wall in the loft area...
my hubby came home for lunch and said..
"Hey you need to make another one.."
I like the sound of that!

My Doll House...

Hello everyone,

I am hoping that everyone weekend went well. Mine was great! My oldest daughter and her BFF came to for a weekend visit.  We all sat around and watched “True Blood” season 2.
I’ve been watching the show since the beginning and got them hooked recently so they were playing catch up most the weekend.
So while they watched,
I did a little shopping!!
And headed to my local Hobby Lobby; I went there for some paint and mod podge, but I spotted this huge clearance section and headed over there and to my surprise I found these.

What a great find! These puppies were priced for $34.95 and I got them BOTH for $3.49…SHUT UP!!!!

I do declare *she says in her best southern accent*

I have no idea, were I will hang them, but I’ll find a place.

I also made some beautiful earrings, if I do say so myself, that will be sold at Eclectic Creations; I also finished my placemat wall art I blogged about this project last week

I received the best compliment from my oldest, who thought I brought them from a department store.
HA!!
SCORE ONE for the M0M!!!

We still have a lot of decorating to do, and its fun.
I think I may have mentioned this in a previous blog; but, when I was younger I had always wanted a Barbie Doll house but instead I received the house that Barbie COULD not fit in.*rolls eyes*.
So being the little creative genius I was *clears throat*
I am. I decorated that house like a champ! I had the cutest furniture in my house, with the tiniest curtains that never stayed in place.
Until I glued them b*tches.
I never could get Barbie to fit.
All in all it was a wonderful fun filled weekend.
Enjoy your Monday BF (blog family)…

Our Home- Powder Room Idea

I so love this color.
However, my computer does not do it any justice.
Its a really pretty color, and I am thinking of doing the down stairs powder room/half bath room in this color. With a stencil (motif have not decided on the stencil yet) and a glaze so that its not so "in your face".

One of my stencil idea is the Fleur-de-lis which means French Lily...
so very cool and popular these days on young, hip clothing lines.

Or maybe an Asian Motif

I question whether this is an Asian Motif, but I am drawn to this design because of the old worldness it has. ( I know thats not a word.)

The site has some neat pictures of wall stencil art.

I like this picture, but it's probably a bit much to attempt since this will be my first time stenciling.
HMMM...
But this would look great IF done correctly.

Thanks for stopping by

Old-World/ Tuscan Style Room

I am in love with this wall. I so would like to do this in my loft area or master bed room.
Sooo, many choices, and possibilities.
 I can hardly wait!

~~Color assistant Danielle Hirsch creates texture on the walls with a rag technique. The result is typical of an Italian villa. The middle stripe is actually not the middle hue: Bromstad makes that color the most intense color ((GOLD)) because he wants to keep the eye at that level in the room.~~

Moroccan Look or Aged Faux Wall Paint

I love old world charm and it looks great if you can correctly incorporated into your home decor here Mrs Adventure is shows you step by step how she antiqued her wall to give her room a Moroccan feel.
I really do like this idea however done on a smaller scale.
