Painting Glass...

I have many old vases that I have found since we have been packing up. And I knew that there was a way of reusing these vases. Here at House and Home
Design editor Stephanie White paints glass plates, jars and bottles to create chic, DIY collectibles. This is a really cool DIY video if you are interested in this decor.

And here at Sweet Something Designs she demonstrates how she made these pretty vases.
Do not you just love them?

Our Home- Powder Room Idea

I so love this color.
However, my computer does not do it any justice.
Its a really pretty color, and I am thinking of doing the down stairs powder room/half bath room in this color. With a stencil (motif have not decided on the stencil yet) and a glaze so that its not so "in your face".

One of my stencil idea is the Fleur-de-lis which means French Lily...
so very cool and popular these days on young, hip clothing lines.

Or maybe an Asian Motif

I question whether this is an Asian Motif, but I am drawn to this design because of the old worldness it has. ( I know thats not a word.)

The site has some neat pictures of wall stencil art.

I like this picture, but it's probably a bit much to attempt since this will be my first time stenciling.
HMMM...
But this would look great IF done correctly.

Thanks for stopping by

MY 100th Blog Post

Yea!!!, this is my 100th blog, what ever that means right. (smile)
Not having any giveaways, drawings or prizes. (sad face)

Well at any rate I figured I would blog today on ideas that I have for my new home.
So far I have found some really cool pillows that I would like to incorporate in my home.

Not sure if there is a particular name however, at
Crate&Barrel they are called Remy Pillows and have they carry them for about 25$.
Well, even though I would like expensive decorations in my home, I also know how to sew.

I love the texture of these pillows.

This is the same fluffiness I am thinking about for the floors in the bathrooms.

Yes, I am loving these pillows.

This is the sofa we are putting downstairs in the living room area. I love the oversized cusions this sectional has.

I am also seeing quite a few homes decorated with picture galleries, now when I first seen a picture gallery in a home, in my opinion, it was tacky. The frames were all different designs and colors. But on Décor Pad I found some really nice pictures of a photo gallery.

There are a lot of photos on this wall but it works because they are all the same motif.

Minimalistic.... I love this entire room.

We have a upstairs entry way that is similar to this. The walls are high, however I am grateful there are windows in that area that will give the stair way plenty of natural light.

My Style...Our Home

Over the past 3 months, I have been researching and blogging and storing information on my computer, oh my poor computer, on what I think will look nice in our new home. I went as far as to take a test on D.I.Y that will show you different samples of home designs, and once you have completed the test it will then
adds every thing up and and as a result of  my style it said my preference is Zen...

GO Figure!

I love the minimalistic design of Zen or Asian Design.
I also am a fan of old world styles, like Italian Moors,Spanish designs.
I am not sure how thats going to all  work, but with the vast amount of information I have gathered and whats in my head.
I will come up with something!
So I am sharing with you a few samples that I will either make, create or buy.
Depending on my mood.
Enjoy

I never thought I would be a fan of Sun Burst but its starting to grow on me.

Sunburst with small mirrors.

I have two end tables that I plan on refurbishing, I plan to paint them black and then find a piece similar to this one below to place in the upstairs hallway.

Pictures and Art work
I enjoy art. And when the mood hits me I will pick up a paint brush or pencil and begin create.
Not only will I incorporate my own art in my home, I plan to use my children's art work as accent pieces.

I love the colors in this piece.

Simplistic, yet Bold!

Lighting.
Is the one thing people neglect when decorating their home.
I plan to have a nice selection of lighting in my home.
Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg soo much to do....
